JESUS, IMMANUEL

Born of a woman in a humble dwelling,                                           Announced by the angels in clouds rejoicing                                                         To shepherds in fields while with flocks watching;                     Honored by wise men with gifts believing.

Refrain:

Jesus Immanuel,Savior of all people, Your love has made us whole; Your name is wonderful!

The deep agony of the cross you endure, Taking upon yourself the burden of the world.                                Through your death salvation for all is made sure,                                    To all who call to you Lord and Savior.

Christ our Lord, we implore your loving kindness.                                 We are sinners, in need of your forgiveness.

Open our hearts so to let you come and dwell;                                     Help us to trust that in your care we are well.

O Christ of all mercy, Lord of righteousness—                                    Give us faith to endure in times of distress;                                          Give us strength to wage against injustices;                                         Give us courage to live as your witnesses.
